Another New Year And "I'm Back In The Saddle Again"
Hi Winners! Happy New Year to you! I hope that you all had a safe holiday and took a little time to re-energize. I sure did. I love taking time to be with family and friends, and December is always a time to "sharpen the saw" for me.
I usually set my goals for the year and then I plan to achieve them in 11 months instead of 12. I tend to wind down early in December. Then once I set my goals for the new year I go after them with gusto and enjoy every bit of the journey. I wish that for you too.
Anyway, just a short message for you today. It is a classic poem to hang on your mirror or desk, and a couple of short but profound quotes. I'm sure you have already seen them, but have you really taken them to heart? Here they are again.
My Wage by J.B. Rittenhouse
I bargained with Life for a penny, And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at the evening, When I counted my scanty store.
For Life is a just employer, He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task.
I worked for a menial's hire, Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid.
-- J.B. Rittenhouse
Another good quote to remember . . .
William James of Harvard said, "If you would be rich . . . you will be rich. If you would be learned . . . you will be learned. If you would be good . . . you will be good. But wish then for one thing exclusively, and don't at the same time wish for a hundred other incompatible things just as strongly."
And don't ever forget this one . . .
Don't wonder about whether something is possible - don't get bogged down in WHETHER. Ask HOW. Over and over if you have to, but ask how can you do it, not whether you can." ---- Brian Tracy
