Goals Worksheet and Workbook
Get a good planner system. You will find it to be one of the best investments in time and money spent.
Make up a Goals Workbook to hold all the information on your Personal Development Program you will need to review regularly, so that you can keep focus on what is important in your life. The first page of the Workbook will be a snap shot of your most important targets! You can enter this on your computer, or just use a three ring binder, just so that you do it.
Journal your thoughts and actions daily if you can, but at least regularly so that you can measure your progress towards a life of your dreams. Remember that 5 years, or 10 years will pass anyway, Why not live to your potential?
Planning your life's purpose and path, making up Goals Worksheets, or a Goals Workbook is not very much different than planning for an event of some type, just more comprehensive, and ongoing.
Napoleon Hill's 'Think and Grow Rich', is one of the greatest books of all time on personal achievement, and in it he refers to ongoing practice and improvement of one's goals, having a personal plan of action, as necessary time spent.
Zig Ziglar in his book on Goals states that one must invest some time and effort on designing their life. He mentions that a minimum of 40+ hours spent planning one's life is not unusual, and should plan ongoing work of a few hours a week.
Most of the greatest minds of all time agree that in order to create a life of significance, one must be working on self improvement and self image constantly. How can one be more, share more, do more, have more, if they are not learning more, practicing more, and implementing more in their life?
There is very little here that is different than what has already been discovered. I am just an ordinary person trying to do some extraordinary things. I am standing on the shoulders of giants so to speak, and trying in my own way to 'get' it myself and share some of my experience with others.
You might have a much more comprehensive model, or a simpler model in mind. That is for you to decide which is easier and which one you would be more apt to keep up. Everyone is different. The main thing is that you have a tool that will be your action guide to the attainment of your dream!
Remember, this is only my opinion, and most people find simpler goals lists and worksheets quite effective. Don't get scared off by what seems to be a lot of work. When you find out what is most important in your life, strategizing is quite enjoyable.
